Public house, early C19. Part timber-framed, part brickwork with pantile and Welsh slate roofs. Island block all of 2 storeys with cellars under part. EXTERIOR: block to King's Quay Street is clad in white shiplap boarding with a wide eaves low pitched clay pantile roof. The NW gable elevation has pierced and fretted bargeboards and tall shaped finial. Gable has converging diagonal weatherboards over a first floor window of 3 double-hung sashes with large panes. The ground floor has C19 public house front with fascia hood and windows with 4 lights and segmental-arched heads. Canted corner with window in old door opening. Public house front continues on NW front and there are 3 double-hung sash windows with small frames on first floor. Also one similar window on ground floor, a plain entrance door and doorcase with pilasters and flat head. To the SW of this is a U-shaped block of red Flemish-bond brickwork, with hipped roof, pantiled on SW and SE sides and Welsh slate on NW. Each elevation has brick dentilled eaves and NW and SE are now painted white. The NW elevation has a large flat-roofed bay at first-floor level of 5 double-hung sashes with small panes. Ground floor has one similar but square window and C20 double door. SW elevation has 4 double-hung sash windows with small panes over 2 similar windows, a tripartite double-hung sash with small panes, recessed entrance door and small 6-pane window under a segmental-arched head. SE elevation has 2 double-hung sashes with small panes on each floor and central C20 glazed door with small panes. South corner is curved at ground-floor level with corbelled courses over. 2 large stacks on ridgeline of SW range and gable end stack on NE flank.
