House. Principal block of early C19, the rear wings have a C17 core which is dated 1674 though they are altered. Oldest sections are of coursed and squared ironstone, the early C19 block is rendered over brick on a ashlar plinth. There is a linking section of circa 1900 of brick. Roof is largely Welsh slate though some of the oldest section has Swithland slate. Main range is 2 storied, five bays, each of the lower openings set in a recess with shallow segmental head. Central doorway with leaded lights alongside it, and shallow radial fan. Windows are 16-light sashes with fine astragals. Two sill bands, the lowest is moulded. Overhanging eaves. Axial stacks. Wing to rear right apparently C17 to C18. Coursed and squared ironstone raised with brick and render and refenestrated with paired and triple sashes with thick transoms and moulded stone hood moulds in each of its three bays. Central window was apparently formerly a doorway. Three hipped gabled dormers above. Conservatory beyond against later brick wall, a curved structure with many tiny panes. At right angles to this wing and behind it another is dated 1674, also of ironstone, and two storied but re-roofed. the doorway is now in an outshut beside the gable wall but perhaps resited since it has a fine shouldered stone architrave and hood mould. three light casement with transom to groundfloor, two lights above and a brick oculus in gable apex beneath the date stone. In side elevation of this wing is a C19 doorway and casement windows, but there is one early upper window now blocked with chamfered stone architrave beneath brick arched head. Quoins and moulded kneelers to gable. Gable and axial stacks. Brick garden wall is attached to the house and returns along the street front.
