G.V. II
House. c1855. Perhaps by George Gilbert Scott. Coursed and squared limestone rubble with ashlar dressings; shaped clay tile roof with plain tile bands and painted rustic barge boards. Coursed and squared rubble integral end stacks. Early vernacular revival and Swiss Cottage style; 2 room main range and rear wing. 1 storey and attic; 2 windows; casements; that to ground floor right of 2 cross lights, that to ground floor left of 3 cross lights; central door; gabled attic dormers corbelled out from below coves level and containing 2-light cross casements. Low lean-to extensions to left and right, both with a door, that to left with corrugated roof. Part of the picturesque Alpine estate village created by Scott.
