IPSTONES C.P. COLTSTONE SK 05 SW 6/224 - Clerks Bank Farmhouse
- II
Farmhouse. Dated 1727 and 1732, altered mid-C19 and C20. Coursed squared and chisel-dressed stone; tiled roof; end stacks. 2-storey, 3-window front C20 casements to sides, the right-hand ground-floor inscribed "WS/1727", and unusual (formerly a porch) 2-storey gable has verge parapets on widely-corbelled kneelers, former porch to centre and 3-light chamfered mullioned window to first floor (similar single-lights to returns) over former door (now casement) with heavy lintel to ground floor; the bay is shouldered-in to sides at first- floor level. The gable is incised with a panel inscribed: C C20 entrance to left-hand end with glazed door; lower W S addition to right side. 1732
