2. Timber framed house of late C16 or early C17 restored and enlarged, Old part of 2 storeys, 3 bays visible on entrance front, and a cross wing may be seen behind. High pitched tiled roof with a compound stack of old bricks rising through ridge and another of 2 conjoined diagonal shafts added at East end. Tile hung 1st floor, plaster below in front and brick behind. Modern casement windows. Extension in similar style and materials. Much exposed framing inside. Side purlin roof shows evidence of smoke bay in which main chimney was inserted. Original blackened plaster partition remains. 2 huge stone fireplaces under main stack and a Tudor arched fireplace on each floor under the diagonal shafted stack. Visible exterior framing, diagonal brick filling on east return.
