Large house. C17 and early C20. Coursed sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings.
Pantile roofs with stone coping, end chimneys to original range. C17 range:
2-storeys, 3 bays including central 2-storey porch. Four-light stone mullion
windows with pediments. Semi-circular keyed arch flanked by flat pilasters to
porch. Three-light mullion windows to 1st floor with square labels. Round panel in
porch gable. Quoins, also to porch. C20 extension in C17 style to right, gable
fronted. Decorative leading to windows throughout. Interior: room over porch has
original oak panelling. More original panelling elsewhere. Staircase to attics
retain original flat balusters. Otherwise panelling from Howley Hall, near Morley,
inserted in early C20. (V.C.H.)
