3/186 Unstead Farm House and 14.6.67 Unstead Farm Cottage (formerly Upper Unstead Farm House) II
House. Mid C16 with C17 cross wing to right end and C20 extensions to rear right. Timber framed, exposed on first floor with colourwashed brick and render infilling, sandstone rubble with brick dressings to right hand return front and imitation framing on C20 extension brick infilled. Tile hung gable on cross wing and plain tiled roofs, nipped with gablet to rear. Tiled pentice course on ground floor of cross wing. Two storeys and attic in gable with triple inserted stack at junction of wing and house to right of centre. Three framed bays to left with curved bracing exposed on first floor. Four, 2-light, diamond-pane, leaded casement windows to first floor and two casement windows to ground floor. One casement to first and attic storeys of cross wing and two windows to ground floor. Door to right of centre with further main entrance to Upper Unstead Farm House on right hand return front at junction with C20 extensions. Studded door to Farm Cottage on left hand return front.
Interior: wealth of framing visible including some sooted beams in roof indicating possible Hall House.
