SE 45 NW ALLERTON MAULEVERER ALLERTON PARK WITH HOPPERTON 3/4 Terrace walls, steps and urns to north and west of 18.8.83 Allerton Park Mansion House. (Previously listed as Terrace Walls and steps to Allerton Park) GV II

Terraces with retaining walls, steps and urns. c1845 by George Martin for Lord Stourton. Gritstone and ashlar. Main terrace on north and west side of the house, with a second, lower, terrace in the north. Main terrace has retaining wall of random rubble with closely-spaced buttresses. A substantial north-west corner 'tower' with conical-capped turrets and battlemented wall. Flight of steps with turrets and side walls at east end of north terrace. The lower lawn has 3 pairs of large segmental stone urns on square bases flanking short flights of steps leading to the lowest north lawn.
