Details
WOODVILLE ROAD 1. 5010 W5 lamp standard at junction of Woodville Road and Aston Road TQ 18 SE 2/35 II 2. 1895. Cast-iron street lamp standard with square base dated 1895 and inscribed 'L E B' (London Electricity Board) and 'By Callendar and Co Ltd, London'. Base has shafted angles and panels containing the inscriptions on each face, a simple acanthus frieze and capitals with an ogee base having scrolled angles over. The standard has 4 modern lamps on semi-circular brackets supported by wrought-iron scrolls. A very early electric light standard.
