GREAT DODDINGTON HIGH STREET SP8864 (South side) 17/122 Grove Farmhouse 02/08/72

GV II Farmhouse, now house. Probably late C17, C18 altered C19. Squared coursed lias and ironstone and regular coursed limestone with C19 pantile and slate roofs. T-shape plan. 2 storeys. Entrance front of 2-window range of early C20 casements under concrete lintels. Central C20 door under stone lintel. Ashlar gable parapets and brick and stone stacks at ends. Evidence of refenestration to right and illegible tablet above entrance. 2-storey limestone outbuildings, part with catslide roof, attached to right. Cross-wing to left has 2-storey range of barns attached with casement windows and plank and stable doors. One window is a horizontal leaded sash, all are under wood lintels. Roofed carriage arch is attached at right angles with barn attached to left, having central cart entrance. Stables attached at right angles to far left. All buildings form 4 sides of a courtyard. Interior not inspected.
