GV II
House. C16 to right with C17 and early C19 extensions to left and C20 wings to rear. Timber framed to right on rendered plinth with whitewashed brick cladding below and fishscale type tile hanging above. Plain-tiled roof over with half-hip to right end. Sandstone block plinth to left half with red and blue chequerwork brick cladding under plain tiled roof stepping up to left. Two storeys to left with plat band over ground floor, diagonal brick dentils to eaves and tile hung gables. Offset crowstepped stack to left end with brick dentil decoration and galleted sandstone blocks. Two 12-pane glazing bar sash windows to each floor under gauged brick heads. Older half to right one storey and attics under two-hipped roof, leaded casement dormers, one either side of gabled C19 blocked dormer. Two 3-light metal casement windows to first floor and two 4-light, leaded ground floor windows. Central door to lobby entry under fine massive corbelled and multiple stack. Catslide extension to right end. Left hand return front - buttressed angle and basement storey. Half-glazed door under flat hood. Two windows at right angles to rear. The house is set in a garden of some historic interest.
