GV II

House. C17, altered C18 and C20. Squared coursed ironstone, tiled roof, brick and stone stacks. L-plan. 2 storeys and attic: 3 bays. 2-light casement window in centre, probably in place of doorway, has chamfered stone lintel and jambs. 3-light casement windows with wood lintels on either side. 3-light casement window with wood lintel in left bay on first floor, similar 2-light window in centre. Right window opening, said to have been enlarged in C19 as entrance to former loft, has wood lintel and C20 2-light casement. Central half dormer, with coped gable and kneelers has 2-light stone mullioned window and square hood. Entrance in right side has wood lintel and part-glazed plank door. Blocked 2-light stone mullioned window to attic floor on left side. C20 brick additions at rear. Interior. Remodelled C20. Has original chamfered spine beams. Said to have been used as bakery C17/C19. Opening on right bay-on first floor was door to loft for floor storage. Partly damaged in the fire of 1905 on east side of High Street. Included for group value.
