5/182 Burndhurst Mill and House 12/1/66 - II

Water mill and mill house. C18. Red brick with ashlar dressings; plain tile roofs with coped verges; brick integral end stacks. House aligned east-west with east wing aligned north-south projecting south; attached mill to west aligned east-west with small projecting wing to south, aligned north-south. House to right, mill to left. House: 2 storeys; 2:2 windows, projecting gabled wing to right, main house has 2-light flat-faced mullioned windows containing casements, wing has casements. Mill: 2 storeys and gable-lit attic, 2-storey gabled wing to left; 1:2 bays, casements, those to first floor have segmental heads; segmental headed doors to right. West gable: Cast iron mill wheel, round-headed attic window with iron glazing bars and raised keystone. Interior: Mill retains its machinery and roof trusses of curved principals and king posts.
