BETCHWORTH C.P. THE STREET TQ 24NW (West Side) 6/32 Priests Cottage and 11/11/66 The Forge GV II

House. C17 with C19 additions and alterations. Timber framed, clad to front and parts of rear in colourwashed roughcast with tile hung gable, some in semi- circle pattern, and plain tiled roofs. Two storeys with attic on gable to left, and in gable on right hand return front. Square stack to junction of gable and main range, offset end stack to right hand return front, now enclosed in pentice extension. Mixed casement fenestration including one large 5-light window to first floor left of centre, smaller 4-light window to right of centre and C19, leaded 3-light window to right. Three, 3-light windows on the ground floor. Irregular fenestration on wing to left with two windows on the first floor and one below. Half-glazed door to centre under braced gable hood. Half-glazed door under drip board to ground floor left of gable. Rear - pentice extension and hip-roofed, tile-hung square extension, possibly a stair-vice.
