GV II
Farmhouse, now house. Probably mid to later C16; altered, and recently enlarged. Timber frame with brick and tile cladding at the front, brick nogging at the rear; red tile roof. Two-and-a-half bay plan, with lean-to addition at east end (addition at west end not of special interest). Two storeys and 2 bays, with plinth, and patterned tile-hanging at 1st floor; the south front has 2 small 2- light casements on each floor, those at 1st floor under gablets, a lean-to at the right-hand end, and a chimney at the right-hand gable; (entrance by porch attached to modern addition on left). The rear has exposed timber framing at ground floor, consisting of sill, posts, rails and studs; casements of 2 lights and 1 light at ground floor, 2 and 2 lights above, and an added porch at the east end. Interior: timber framing including wallposts, a chamfered spine beam at ground floor, 3 cross-frames at 1st floor, unsymmetrically arranged as if for a former smoke bay at the east end (and one tie-beam severed for doorway), with arch-bracing to those in the centre and at the east end, and wind-bracing to the roof; inglenook fireplace with chamfered bressummer; ¼-turn staircase between chimney stack and front wall; ground floor partition between the bays removed, and beam and joists replaced beyond this.
