SOUTHWICK MAIN STREET TL09SW (South side) 5/130 Shuckburgh Arms Public House GV II

House now public house. Probably late C17 and mid C19. Squared coursed limestone with thatch and slate roofs. Originally 3-unit plan. 2 storeys. 3-window range of C19 casements under wood lintels. Central plank door, is also under continuous wood lintel, with the flanking windows. Brick stacks at ridge and end. C19 one-unit extension, to right, has slate roof and C19 casement windows and door under shallow stone arches. Interior has open fireplace with bressumer and chamfered ceiling beams. Converted to public house about 1840. (RCHM: An Inventory of Architectural Monuments in North Northamptonshire: p143)
