Church. Dated 1938. By N Cachemaille-Day. Grey brick and knapped flint facing.
Pitched tiled roof to parapet. Nave of 4 bays, wide aisles, no clerestory; transepts
short chancel, low square crossing tower; north porch. Simplified Perpendicular,
Gothic style. Square-headed aisle windows with brick tracery. Tudor arched 5-light
west window. Tower with corner buttresses curving to merge into main wall planes,
and round stair tower to south east corner, the upper part louvred. Interior
rendered, with pointed capitalless arcade arches, with hollow chamfer mouldings
rising through piers to apex. Pilasters to piers rise to support encased roof
trusses. Pitched encased ceiling. Gallery to crossing tower. Pulpit, font and font
cover reredos, altar rails and light fittings etc also of interest.
