Lodge house. c.1857-58. By E.F. Law: Squared coursed and rusticated limestone with ashlar dressing. L-shape plan. 2 storeys. Entrance front of 2-window range with square turret to left and gable to right. C19 plank door to left has 4-centred moulded stone head. Canted bay window to right with stone mullions and transoms has similar projecting window above with leaded diamond panes. Turret has pair of lancet windows with cusping to 2 faces and square pyramid roof. Gabl has bargeboards. Stone stacks at eaves and ends. Other elevations similar. Interior not inspected. Gatepiers with gabled copings linked by wrought-iron gates and wall with intermediate piers and wrought-iron railings attached to south. Forms part of a planned cemetery layout with Non-conformist mortuary chapel (q.v.) and Church of England mortuary chapel (q.v.), London Road cemetery. Included for group value.
