5/27 The Brewhouse
II
Brewhouse, later laundry to Brodsworth Hall, now dwelling. Mid C18. Cement- rendered rubble limestone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys with attics, 4 x 4 bays. Twin-gabled entrance front has arcade of 4 round arches with impost band and keystones; C20 door within left arch, others with C20 casements. 1st-floor: sill-band, central sash with glazing bars in square-faced surround. Eaves band and Diocletian window to each gable. Ashlar gable copings. Brick stack in valley and rendered stack to right ridge. Left return: sashes with glazing bars to each bay on ground and 1st floors. Right return has original wide doorway in projecting square-faced surround.
