STAINBOROUGH ROUND GREEN LANE SE30SW (north side)
1/38 U-shaped range of farmbuildings immediately to rear of Round Green Farmhouse GV II Range of farmbuildings including barn and cowhouses with haylofts. Probably c1800, earlier barn adjoins farmhouse (q.v). Thinly-coursed sandstone rubble, sheet asbestos roofs. U-shaped range enclosing farmyard to rear of house. Single-storey 5-bay barn on west side of yard, attached is later L-shaped range enclosing north side, single-storey range to east. Earlier barn: full-height boarded door flanked by outshuts, that to left with stone roof; quoined lst-floor openings on left now walled-up. Adjacent limb of later range has 3 segmental- arched openings, that to left with loft door over. Return limb with large basket-arched waggon passageway on left, similarly-arched low opening to right; total of 4 quoined doorways with deep lintels, casement to left of 3rd door, quoined loft opening over 2nd door. Hipped roof. Single-storey limb has blocked arcade of 6 round arches on square piers, brick and stone infill, boarded doors on left. At right end 2 quoined doorways and 3 windows.
Interiors: old barn has early principal-rafter trusses. Other ranges with pattern-book king-post trusses.
