5/166 The Old Bothy and Tangley Cottage
II
House, now divided. C17 extended to left in 1880's. Timber framed to centre and right, exposed to right with red brick infill on first floor and underbuilt in brick below on rendered plinth. Brick to left with tile hung first floor. Plain tiled roofs dropping down over centre. H shaped plan with gabled bays projecting to ends. 2 storeys to ends with attics in gables to right, one storey to centre. Tall multiple , corbelled, stack to right of centre, square stack to left. Leaded casement fenestration, the majority diamond-pane. 2 gables to right end with attic windows small projecting bay windows on braces to ground and first floor of right end with one 3-light ground floor window to right. One cambered head ground floor casement to left of centre and one 3-light leaded casement on first floor of left wing. Square bay window below under penticed roof. 2 doors to ground floor right of centre in gabled projection, one door to left.
Interior: substantial ceiling frames visible on right half, chamfered joists. Deep brick fireplace with wooden lintel.
