8/69 Strines Inn 25/4/69 II

Public House. C17, C18 and C19. Coursed, squared gritstone with ashlar wing to left, stone slate roofs. Elongated range of 3 builds. 2 C17 bays, with 2-bay wing to left, brought forward, and single bay wing to right set back. C17 part: chamfered plinth (benchmark to right). Two 5-light windows to each floor with double-chamfered surrounds all heightened and without stone mullions. Gabled porch right of centre with moulded ashlar surround to doorway, cornice, shield of arms of the Worral family, kneelers and copings. Aslllar stacks to centre and right have plain oversailing courses. To left, low C18 2-bay ashlar wing with rusticated quoin pilasters, moulded stone architraves with wood casements, band to first floor and moulded coved eaves, corniced ashlar stack to left. To right, C19 addition with part-glazed door and fan-light, tripartite small-pane sash to right with similar single sash above. Stone brackets to eaves, gable stack. To rear of C17 part, 3-light double-chamfered mullion window with hood, mullions removed. Cast-iron benchmark on roadside gable.
