TQ 3024 NW CUCKFIELD SOUTH STREET (west street) 7/93 No 28 10.9.51 No 29 (Beam Ends) GV II One house originally, now subdivided. C16 altered in C20. Timber-framed building with square panels exposed on first floor with painted brick infill, ground floor underbuilt in brick the left side tile hung and with tiled roof. 2 storeys and attics, 3 windows with irregular fenestration. Steeply pitched roof with gablet to left, half-hipped to right with large clustered chimney stack off-centre on ridge and further one on end. 3 gabled dormers with leaded lights. First floor has 3 C19 casements with leaded lights. Ground floor has 2 C20 metal casements and one 16-pane sash window with horns. Simple modern planked door. Modern lean-to brick addition to rear. Interior of No 28 has an inglenook fireplace with beehive-shaped bread oven, jowled post, winder staircase to attic which has wide floor boards and a through purlin roof.
