5/131 Cartshed at Barnes Hall Farm approximately 60 metres to north of dovecote

Cartshed, c1820. Deeply coursed, squared sandstone, horizontally punched. Sheet asbestos roof. 2 storeys, 5 bays. Ground floor: continuous row of 5 basket-arched cart openings with voussoirs set on square stone piers with plain impost blocks, projecting keystones. Central first floor hatch with projecting sill (cut away) and plain square surround. 2 similar louvred openings above outer piers, sills intact. Stone steps up to board doors at each end.
