Details

KIRK BRAMWITH LOW LANE ) SE 61 SW (east side, off) 6/63 The Old Rectory GV II Rectory. Dated 1846. Red brick in Flemish bond, ashlar dressings, Welsh slate roof. Irregular plan: 2 storeys, 3 bays to front and left return, 4-bay wing to rear right. In Tudor Revival style. Entrance front: 1 : 2 bays with gabled left-hand bay set forward and single-storey porch projection from bay 2. Porch has Tudor-arched openings with gable plaque inscribed 'A.D, 1846' and shaped kneelers to gable copings; part-glazed door within flanked by side lights. Bays 1 and 3: moulded 2-light mullioned windows having sashes with horizontal glazing bars in bonded surrounds beneath hoodmoulds. 1st floor: similar windows of 2, 1 and 3 lights; blank plaque to gable of bay 1. Shaped kneelers and gable copings with projecting end stack on right and ridge stack on left of bay 2. Left return: 1 : 2 bays, left bay with gable and projecting slightly; windows as before, three of 2 lights to ground floor, two of 2 and 3 lights above. Right return: wing on right has door to bay 2 and gables with 2-light windows to bays 3 and 4.
