NORTH AND SOUTH ANSTON THE GREEN SK58SW (east side), North Anston 5/74 No 7 (Mulberry Farmhouse) including attached outbuilding.
GV II
Farmhouse with attached outbuilding. Early and mid C18. Coursed, squared limestone, pantile roofs. 2-storey-and-attic, 5-bay farmhouse with lower outbuilding set back and in line on right. Farmhouse: large quoins. Part- glazed door to central bay has pedimented, wooden doorcase. Unequally-hung 15-pane sashes in bead-moulded ashlar surrounds with lowered sills. 1st floor: unequally-hung 9-pane sashes apart from central sash of 6 panes, its surround linked by strips to the doorcase. Renewed kneelers and gable copings. Stone end stack on left; C20 3-light roof dormer on right. Outbuilding: left party with C20 front addition,now incorporated within house. On right are 3 chamfered doorways of earlier C18 character; a blocked triangular vent and boarded 1st- floor door. Garage doors to right return. Interior of house: mid-C18 oak staircase with turned balusters; some contemporary doors; bolection-moulded fireplace in left-end room.
