2. C15 timber-framed hall-house of Wealden type with plaster infilling, partly close-studded, restored in 1912. flipped tiled roof. Consists of a centre portion and 2 wings of which the first floor oversails on the protruding ends of the floor joists. The centre has curved braces and brackets supporting the eaves, also a projecting bay on a red brick base having a window on both floors of 2 tiers of 5 lights with wooden mullions and transom and ornamental timbering between the ground and first floor. Round-headed doorway and to the south of this an original window of 3 narrow lights with wooden mullions and diamond-shaped leaded panes of old green glass. Two storeys 4 windows. Sir James Barrie occupied the house from 1921-1934.
