Raised graveslab. c1705. Sandstone slab with elaborate relief carving of foliage and flowers around edge and, at the top, a cartouche, with winged child supporters, inscribed "Mors est Ianua Vita". To: John Copley, "Taner" of Clayton and his wife also Phillip their son. The dates and ages follow respectively:

1679 aged 61 years 1705 aged 105 years 1705 aged 50 years

An elaborate and well preserved example.
