Details
ISLIP THE WALK SP5214 (East side) 12/89 River View GV II House. Late C17/early C18. Limestone rubble with some ashlar dressings; concrete plain-tile roof with brick gable stacks. L plan. 2 storeys plus attic. 2-window front, possibly re-modelled mid/late C18, has asymmetrically-arranged 4-pane sashes below flat arches with projecting keyblocks, the left ground-floor window now a French window; a doorway with a similar arch is now blocked. Left gable wall steps around a chimney projection, and has small casements including a 3-light wood-mullioned window with intermediate bars. Right gable wall has further casements and returns to the contemporary rear wing which has been raised to 3 storeys and retains leaded casements. Interior not inspected.
