Group of 3 Pile monuments in churchyard, 3-9m south of nave, Church of All Saints
II
Three chest tombs in group. C18. Limestone. To east, (a) moulded
table and base, recessed corner balusters. Large lettering in
incised oval to William Pile, died 1786. To west, from north, (b)
a similar chest tomb, inscription with carved border, to John Pile,
died 1770. (c) Corniced table and moulded base. Panelled
pilasters dividing raised shields, to Simon Pile, died 1771, and
another Simon Pile, died 1773, enclosed in cast iron railings on
moulded stone platform.
