2. Early C19 cast-iron gas lamp standards adapted for electricity. Typical standard has a square tapering and horizontally furrowed base with a GIIIIR monogram (WIIIIR on the one at the north end of the Main Entrance railings), supporting an octagonal column with 3 swan-neck brackets carrying a round, pagoda-topped lantern. On the base of each standard are cast the letters T.E.D.G.E.
