Details
COCKFIELD CROSS GREEN 1. 5377 (north-east side) Thatch-on-the-Green (formerly listed as cottage and shop 40 yards east of Mill House) TL 8955 47/265 15.8.69 II GV 2. A C17-C18 timber-framed and plastered building built on an L-shaped plan, with wings to the north-east and south-east. Roof thatched, with a central ridge chimney stack with diagonally set shafts on a square base. One storey and attics. Small casement windows with lattice leaded lights. Two gabled dormers on the front and 2 on the north-west side. A small double fronted shop front is built out on the north-west end of the front, with a slate roof. A 6-panel door has a thatched hood.
