A private school from World War II until 2000 subsequently converted into housing. Formerly the home of the Streatfield family who were responsible for various local venefactions. Built by Sydney Smirke in 1838 in Tudor style. Asymmetrical building of two storeys and attic. Red brick, with some diaper patterns on ground floor. Long and short quoins, window dressings and plinth, all of stone. Clustered brick chimney pots. Front elevation has a projecting portion of two storeys and attics with gable surmounted by ball finials. Oriel window to first floor. Four-centred stone archway with hood moulding. The part set back has a pierced panel with stone coping, moulded eaves cornice, part stringcourse and mullioned and transomed windows. The right side has two shaped gables and blank cartouches.
