BURBAGE SAVERNAKE ROAD SU 26 SW (north west side) 2/52 Savernake Forest Hotel II
Ailesbury Estate building, now hotel. Mid C19. Diaper brick with patterned slate roof. Two storeys, 6 bays. Central 2 bays set forward irregularly. Entrances either side, arched, in stone. Wings have, to left, lounge, and to right dining room, with banqueting suite forming rear wing on left. Porches now enclosed. Paired pointed arched windows with stone surrounds and plate glass sashes. Plat band of yellow brick. Vigorous diaper pattern to first floor. Offset and brick bracketed eaves. Tall stacks quoined in stone. Return wing on left has triple pointed arched windows to ground floor, angled heads to upper floor. Interior has original C19 stair and some fireplaces. Moulded ceiling cornices.
