2/74 Nos. 1 & 2 Trappetts Cross Cottages.
GV II
House, now divided into 2. Late C16. 2 storeys: basic 2-cell lobby-entrance plan, with a small mid C19 extension at the west end, and a small rear wing, probably C17, behind No.2. Timber-framed, partly faced and part fully encased in brick of a variable light grey and pinkish colour. Thatched roof to main house, black glazed pantiles to extension. An internal chimney-stack with a plain shaft of small red bricks. Two 3-light early C20 casement windows with transome to ground storey, 2 3-light C18 cast iron casement windows to upper storey, with square leaded panes and pintle hinges. 2 plank doors, slightly recessed, with arched heads to surrounds. The door to No.1 is just within the west extension, which has 2-light windows to each storey, matching those in the main house. Widely-spaced, substantial studding to interior; arched braces to the corners of the frame, and to the tie-beams; roof with clasped purlins and a single windbrace to each bay. It is understood that an original ceiling has been removed from No.2.
