5/14 Frog Hall 14.7.55 II
House, early C15 with C16 and C17 alterations. 2-bay open hall with jettied service cross-wing and C17 cross-wing at upper end. Cross-passage entry. Hall- now 1½ storeys, attics, wings 2 storeys. Timber-framed, rendered, clay plaintiled roof with gabled casement dormers; axial chimney in hall range of C16 red brick. C19 casements and panelled entrance door. Hall open truss (damaged): cambered tie-beam, massive arch-braces and crown-post both now gone, polygonal hewn pilasters at storey posts. Hall and service wing former crown- post roofs now have C16 clasped purlins; cross-wing extended to rear in C17. C16 hall open fireplace has 3 square recesses above oak lintel. C17 upper end cross-wing has moulded 1st floor joists reused from a C16 structure.
