ST3614 BAY HILL 1939-1/7/4 (South side) 29/07/76 No.13

II

House. Late C17, extended late C19 and c1980. Limestone rubble with thatched roof, half-hipped to the left, gabled to the right, and brick ridge stack to right of centre. 2-unit plan with 2 additions to the right (south). 2 storeys; 3-window range. C20 door to left under a thatched porch supported by wooden columns. This has been repositioned, and was probably to the centre of the original block, where there is now a window. There are 2 further C20 windows under concrete lintels to the ground-floor right. First floor has 2 small 2-light casements across eaves level. The stack marks the end wall of the original house to which was added a single-storey single unit in the late C19, increased to 2-storeys and extended by a semicircular-plan room c1980. INTERIOR: To the left of the present door is a C20 staircase and to the right is a chamfered beam and an inglenook fireplace against the previously external wall, with a passage to the left into the later extension.
