GV II
House, now guesthouse. c1840, altered c1880. Ham Hill stone ashlar, stepped stone copings to gabled slate roofs; brick stacks to gable ends of main c1840 house. E-shape plan. c1880 wing added to left, stepped slightly forward. 2 storeys; symmetrical 3-window range to c1840 front to right (west). Late C19 six-panel door and overlight with 2 glazing bars, flanked by 2-light casements with margin panes, the central panes having 4-centred arched tops, set in plain square-headed architraves. The gable end of the c1880 wing to the left (east) is one-window range with stepped stone copings to forward-facing gable; glazed slit window in the apex, a window to match the original ones to ground floor and an oriel window on a substantial corbel with a 2-light casement of the same design to first floor. Right return, facing west, is 4-window range, with labelled hoodmoulds, except 2 to first-floor right; those to the left on both floors are blind. Left return is 5-window range, rendered, with plain stone dressings. The rear has 3 gable ends. INTERIOR: Main building to right includes 6-panel doors and elliptical arches; flagstones to left front room, otherwise c1880 polychromatic tiled floor to hall, closed-string staircase with turned balusters. c1880 wing has 4-panel doors.
