Corner site terrace with large shop, probably 2 houses
originally. Mid C19. Stucco on studwork with moulded
architraves, sill brackets and moulded hoods on consoles;
bitumen-grouted polygonal slate roof with moulded eaves over
wide-spaced brackets; late C19 gabled dormer on the left;
brick stack on the right; cast-iron ogee gutter. Double-depth
plan with canted front. 2 storeys and 3 storeys;
1:2:2:1:2-bays overall. 8-window-range front. Possibly
original 2-pane hornless sashes and some later horned sashes;
wider windows to left-hand bay: tripartite sash over later
transomed window. Pilastered doorway with moulded hood on
consoles to 2nd bay fronting 5 granite steps up to C20 glazed
door and overlight. Ground floor of 3-storey 4-bay part on
right has 7-bay shop front with Ionic columns dividing the
bays; end pilaster on left, column to far right with doorway
on its left; C20 glazed door and C20 plate-glass shop windows.
INTERIOR: many original features including some moulded
ceiling cornices and dogleg stair with closed string and
column-over-vase turned balusters; at least one C19
chimneypiece, 2 iron grates and queen-post roof structures.
The Greek Revival shopfront is a notable example of its type.
