Semi-detached villas. c. 1835 by Bilham. Stucco over brick except main face and extension of No. 27 which are of yellow stock brick; Welsh-slate hipped roofs with projecting eaves (no. 28 bracketed), and centre and right end- wall brick stacks. Side-hall entrance plan. Three storeys and basements; 3 windows each including narrower 1-window recessed entrance bay and 1-window two-storey extension. Stucco storey band to ground floor, and sill band to 1st floor. Steps rise to entrance porch; No. 27 with C20 enclosed wood porch, and No. 28 with very fine pedimented cast-iron porch and original 2-panelled door with glazing. Inner bay with elliptical-arched ground 1/1 and 1st floor 6/6 sashes with side-lights and 'Barnsbury wreath' in tympana; No. 27 with gauged brick arches and No. 28 with architraves, keystones and sill brackets. Upper storeys of entrance bay and 2nd floor inner bay with 6/6 sashes; 2nd floor inner bay sashes set in flat-arched recesses. C20 extension to No. 27; extension to No. 28 perhaps earlier and features 1/1 sashes with margin lights, bracketed cornice to lst floor and coping to parapet.
