12 terraced houses. 1828-1829. By William Chadwell Mylne, Surveyor for the New River Estate. Yellow stock brick set in Flemish bond with banded stucco ground-floor and stucco dressings; roofs obscured, party-wall brick stacks. Side-hall entrance plan. Four storeys with basement; 2 windows each. Steps rise to round, elliptical-arched or square-headed entrance (no. 12 with 1-storey entrance extension): doorway with fluted 1/4 column jambs, pilaster jambs and attached Doric columns carrying corniced-head, fanlight (nos. 16, 19 & 22 patterned; nos. 12-14 with overlight) and original panelled door to no. 19. Mostly 6/6 sashes to ground-floors, some with curved and radial glazing bars. Gauged-brick flat arches with 6/6 sashes to upper floors; 1st floor stucco sill band beneath full-length sashes set in arched brick recesses linked by stucco impost banding and individual cast-iron balconies with Vitruvian scroll and anthemion pattern to nos. 12-14. Plain brick parapet with unusual (dogtooth) dentiled cornice and stone coping. Attached cast-iron railings with acorn and urn finials.
