Four terraced houses. c.1839-1840, altered C20. Probably laid out by William Chadwell Mylne, Surveyor for the New River Estate, Patron. Yellow & brown stock brick set in Flemish bond with banded stucco ground-floor; roofs obscured by parapet, brick party-wall stacks. Side-hall entrance plan. Three storeys with basement; 2 windows each. Steps rise to entrance (nos. 18A-18 side entrance much altered and rebuilt C20): doorway with pilaster jambs carrying cornice-heads, rectangular overlight and original 4-panelled door to nos 20-22 (C20 door and overlight to no. 24). 6/6 sashes throughout; stucco sill band to 1st floor full-length architraved sashes with console-bracketed cornices (nos. 18A, 18-22 removed) and individual cast-iron balconies. Architraved 2nd floor (nos. 18A-20 with gauged-brick flat arches) sashes. Stucco cornice and blocking course (no. 18A & 18 cut-back; no. 24 with coping stone). Attached cast-iron area railings with foliated finials. Named in honour of William Percy Smith, one of the New River Company's governors & ex-Attorney General.
