GV II
Five pairs of semi-detached linked villas. c.1850. Brown and yellow stock brick set in Flemish bond with channelled stucco ground floors and dressings; slate hipped roofs with projecting eaves and brick centre stacks. Side-hall entrance plan. Three storeys and some attics; 2 windows each (no. 165 with entrance in return and others with ground-floor deeply recessed linked entrance bays). Ground-floor round-arched entrance to outer bay (most with simple architraves): steps rise to panelled door with plain fanlight surmounted by stucco cornice. Some with original balustrade over entrance bay and others with various C20 additions to upper floors of entrance bay. Ground floor with 4/4 sashes with cast-iron window guards. Brick upper storeys with stucco quoins, architraves and 1st floor sill band. First floor full-length sashes with console-bracketed cornices, 2-bay iron balcony railings and iron brackets. Nos. 163-165 altered and no. 165 with entrance to right return in Huntingdon Street. Attached iron railings.
