Terrace of three houses. c.1828. By William Chadwell Mylne, Surveyor to the New River Estate. Yellow stock brick set in Flemish bond with banded stucco ground-floor and stucco dressings; artificial slate mansard roofs with dormers, brick party-wall stacks. Side-hall entrance plan. Irregular facade. Three storeys with basement and attic; no. 8 of 3 windows each and nos. 9-10 of 2 windows each. Steps rise to round-arched architraved entrance (no. 8 to left and nos. 9-10 to right): doorway with attached fluted Doric columns carrying corniced-head, plain fanlight and panelled door. Round-arched architraved ground-floor sashes set in stucco recess with panel below: no. 8 with two 1/1 sashes and nos. 9-10 each with one 6/6 sash. Gauged-brick flat arched 6/6 sashes to upper floors. 1st floor stucco sill band beneath full-length sashes set in arched recesses linked by stucco impost bands and with individual cast-iron balconies with geometric and Greek fretwork pattern to railings. Plain brick parapet with stone coping. Good attached cast-iron railings with acorn and urn finials. Prior to 1935 Inglebert Street was called Upper Chadwell Street.
