Terraced houses, now partly offices. Nos 26, 27 and 29 of 1810, and probably developed by Thomas Woollcott, nos 28 and 30-34 of c.1810. Yellow brick set in Flemish bond, mansard roofs of Welsh and artificial slate. Four storeys over basement; two windows each except no 26 which has four windows and is double-fronted. All openings have gauged brick heads. Round-arched entrance set back under a round arch; all entrances have fanlight and panelled doors of original design, but the doorcases vary: no 26 has engaged Roman Doric columns and modillion cornice, no 27 fluted pilasters, circle stops and moulded cornice, no 28 engaged reeded Ionic columns with acanthus leaves to the necking, no 29 fluted pilasters, lion stops and plain cornice, nos 30-34 reeded engaged columns and modillion cornice. Ground-floor windows round-arched and set back under a round arch; stucco storey band; first- floor windows flat-arched and set back under a round arch; iron balconies; second-floor windows flat-arched. 6/6 sashes of original design to nos 26 (ground and second floors), 27-29 (ground and first floors), nos 30-31, 32 (ground floor), 33 and 34 (first and second floors). Original rainwater head between nos 32 and 33. Dentil cornice and parapet. Dormers in mansard roofs and stacks to party walls. Cast-iron railings to area. Wrought-iron overthrow lampholder to no 26. The interior of no 26 includes a cantilevered staircase to all floors, oval in plan, with wreathed handrail, open string and stick balusters. Other interiors not inspected.
