GV II
Terraced houses and shop. Early C19. Yellow brick set in Flemish bond, stucco, roofs of artificial slate. Three and four storeys over basement, two windows each. No 35 has an unusually complete early C19 shop front with fluted pilasters supporting fascia and cornice, shop window with 4/3 large panes, and flat-arched house entrance to left with cornice and decorative glazing to overlight. The rest of the entrances are round-arched with gauged brick heads, fluted quarter columns, cornice, fanlight (with decorative glazing to nos 36-37) and panelled doors of original design. All windows have gauged brick heads, those to ground floor round-arched, those to first and second floors flat-arched, the first-floor windows set back under round arches of gauged brick linked by stucco springing bands; cast-iron balconies to nos 38-39. Stucco storey band between ground and first floor. Parapet has brickwork detail in emulation of triglyphs and guttae. Nos 38-43 have one dormer each in mansard roofs; stacks to party walls. Cast-iron railings to area.
