Includes: No.17 STUDD STREET. Terraced houses. c.1828-30. Yellow brick set in Flemish bond, stucco, roof obscured by parapet. Symmetrical terrace with projecting end bays, (nos 17 Studd Street & 20-22 and 42-44). Three storeys over basement, two windows each except the end bays wich are one-window range. Basement and ground floor stuccoed,the ground floor decorated with banded rustication. Steps up to segmental-arched entrances, the segment shallower on nos 22 and 42. Nos 24 and 36-40 have panelled pilaster-jambs, nos 22 and 42 plain jambs, nos 26-32 reeded pilaster jambs apparently replacements; no 44, the side entrance in Moon Street, has Greek Doric columns; cornice, fanlight with decorative glazing to nos 22, 24, 34, and 38-40. No 17 Studd Street, nos 22 and 42-44 Theberton Street have tripartite windows to all three floors, flanked by a giant order of stucco pilasters surmounted by cornice and blocking course, now unmoulded on nos 17 Studd Street and 22 Theberton Street. For the central part of the terrace: ground-floor windows round-arched, upper windows flat-arched with gauged brick heads. Ground-floor windows with 6/6 sashes with margin lights and radiating glazing bars; 6/6 sashes common on first floor and second floor of nos 34-40. Parapet; stacks on party walls. Area railings with ball-and-disc and spearhead finials.
