Terraced houses. c.1840. Yellow brick set in Flemish bond, stucco, roof obscured by parapet. Three storeys, two windows each. Basement and ground floor stuccoed, the ground floor scored as ashlar. Steps up to round-arched entrance, generally with moulded stucco architrave, fluted pilasters, cornice and fanlight. No 1 has flat-arched side entrance flanked by pilasters and overlight with decorative glazing. Nos 3-4, 8, 10-16 have panelled doors of original design, nos 4-5 have pilasters slightly bowed in plan with acanthus-leaf capitals, and decorative glazing to fanlights, and nos 7, 11-12 and 15 also have decorative glazing to fanlights. Ground-floor windows round-arched. Stucco sill band to first-floor windows. All upper windows have moulded stucco architraves and first-floor windows have cornices and balconies, the balconies to nos 1-5 bracketed. Sashes of original design, with radiating glazing bars to the ground floor, to nos l, 2 (first and second floor), 3, 4-5 (with intersecting glazing bars to ground floor), 6 (ground and first floor), 7-9, 10 (ground floor), 11, 12 (ground floor), 13, 14 (first floor), 15-16. Moulded stucco cornice to nos 1-15, parapet upswept between nos 5 and 6; roof extension to no 15; stacks to party walls. Cast-iron railings to area. (Eric Willatts: Streets with a story.
