GV II

2 shops (No.21), flat (No.21A) and a house in rear wing (No.23), formerly 3 shops and house. Mid C16 timber-frame with C19 painted brick facade and south gable. Plain tile roofs. Late C19 plate-glass display windows with 2 sets of triple-arched lights, all very re-worked. C20 doors. Three 3/3 sashes to first floor. Gabled roofs of different pitches, marking former property boundary. North section with internal gable-end stack to north, shared with No.25, and a gabled dormer with 2-light casement. South section has lost its stack. Rear has a single storey outshut with C20 fenestration and a stack. This is No.21A. Cross wing to rear (No.23) has one storey and dormer attic. Exposed studwork plastered in panels and whitewashed between timbers. Early C20 door to left and 2 renewed canted bay windows rising through half a storey. 3 gabled dormers with 2-light casements. Heavy external gable-end stack to west and external wall stack to north. INTERIOR of No.21 with C16 multiple roll-moulded bridging beams, nothing visible to upper floor. INTERIOR of No.23 not inspected.
