Includes: No.1 APPLETON GATE. Houses, now shops. Early C19 with mid and late C20 alterations. Colourwashed stucco fronts with gabled and hipped pantile and concrete tile roofs and 2 rendered side wall stacks. Coped parapet. 3 storeys. Bridge street front has 9 windows, with 2 steel casements flanked to left by 2 plain sashes and by 5 plain sashes to right. Above, 8 plain sashes, 3 of them blank. On the ground floor, 3 mid C20 shopfronts to left and a larger early C20 one to right, with angled corner window and cornice. Appleton Gate front has 5 plain sashes, the 3 to right set slightly higher. Above, 2 plain sashes to left, then a blank flanked by single 12 pane sashes. On the ground floor, to left, the return of the Bridge Street shopfront with 2 windows. To right, a mid C20 shopfront.
